The school admits children over 2 years of age and they are encouraged to move to a regular school at 4 years of age. The school is reckoned as one of the best in the area from the point of view of the quality of basic grounding given to the children. To preserve the quality of individual attention, the student/staff ratio has been kept at an optimum level of around 10 to 1, the staff being carefully chosen for their aptitude to deal with children of the age group 2-4 years. Our school lays special emphasis on firstly making the child want to come to school eagerly and interacting with other children. This is achieved by allowing the children initially to freely engage themselves in their own favourite activity without any compulsions. Towards this goal, the school has plenty of space and equipment such as swings, slides, see-saws, jungle gym, tricycles, bicycles, pedal cars, scooters and toys. Children are brought into regular learning sessions whenever they are ready and eager to do so. Each child is taught individually and at his own pace and thus gets individual attention. Collective classes are held for activities like story telling, singing nursery rhymes, prayer, etc. The medium of instruction is officially English but there is one peculiar problem in this respect. In the cosmopolitan area where the school is located, the children belong to a variety of mother tongue backgrounds (Kannada/Tamil/Malayalam/Telugu/Hindi/English, etc.) The staffs have the ability to communicate effectively in quite a few of these languages in order to establish rapport with the children who join generally at the age of two years knowing only their mother tongue. It is an amazing sight to see two children of entirely different mother tongues becoming close pals within a few days of joining the school!
