In 1924 in Frankfurt, Germany, Carl Press Sr. founded deugro as “Deutsche Grosstransportgesellschaft” or, as literally translated, “German Heavy Transport. From the outset, deugro specialized in just that: over-dimensional and heavy cargoes. Under the leadership of Carl E. Press, who took over management of the company in 1968, deugro developed into a leading provider of international freight forwarding services, specializing in turnkey projects and complicated cargo moves to and from major industrial sectors located throughout the globe. Upon his retirement in 1998, deugro had become a truly global presence, with offices located in over 35 countries.
